WHO WE ARE
“My mother died on New Year’s Eve 2019. Upon her stage 4 cancer diagnosis less than 3 years earlier, we were on borrowed time. Caring for my mother while also caring for my young children I realized I needed a safe space of my own and yoga became this space for me. My yoga practice led me to Robin and Robin led me to breathwork. We have worked together ever since. She is a fellow griever and I look forward to holding this SHARED SPACE with her for all of us.”

CO-FOUNDER & FACILITATOR
MANDY LAX
(she/her/hers)
Mandy graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a Masters in Art
Therapy and had a private practice for 12 years in Westchester, New York where she
mostly focused on trauma, grief and loss. She also established and ran the Open Art
Studio, NYC (with Natalia Gomez ATR-BC, LCAT), whose mission was to provide
an outlet for healing through art-making.
From a young age Mandy was aware of the
profound effects that dying and death have on people of all ages. Mandy quickly
recognized the lack of SPACE in our society and culture for grieving. Upon her
mother’s death Mandy’s personal need for this space has led her to create one, not just
for herself, but for all fellow grievers.
OUR JOURNEY
CO-FOUNDER & TEACHER
ROBIN GIACOMO
(she/her/hers)
When in a heartbeat a tragic accident altered Robin’s mother’s life dramatically and
eventually called her home twenty-three years later, Breath-work became the main
medicine that allowed Robin to move, emote, and integrate the multiple shades of her
loss and grief.
Robin is passionate about personal evolution. She empowers people to bravely turn
toward themselves as their greatest allies in living an even more beautiful life. Her work
draws on the balance between dreams and discipline, dedicated studentship, parenting,
and awe of nature.
An Alchemy of Breath 400-hour Breath-work Facilitator, Kripalu- and Katonah-certified
yoga teacher, personal growth coach, and writer, Robin has offered private and group
classes and sessions, women’s circles, and events for over a decade.
